The reader is invited to follow the clues along with Walker and Austin as they investigate the case. There were several suspects to choose from (I picked the wrong one). This story had a few twists and turns (I like that in a mystery) to keep the reader entertained and a surprise ending.

Very unusual book. .. first very brief, however the format makes that a good thing. It consists of two detectives talking back and forth to one another about a case and personal drivel. There is no way to start to get to know the characters, the murder plot is pitiful and I would advise you save your money. . .
I gave this book a 5 star rating because it was one more book from this author I couldn't put down. Each book I read by Mr. Dalglish just makes me want to read another & another. This is the second book this week I have read of his. Off to shop for the next one. It's rainy here today... great day to curl up with a good book.
One of the best reads I've had in a long time. Excellent character development and a compelling story. Anxiously anticipating the other in the City Murder series, but I will miss the characters in this one. I hope the writer keeps publishing work like this for a long time.
So often I get tired of an author and/or his or her characters. That is never the case with John Dalglish, whether it is a chronological series such as Detective Jason Strong, or the stand alone "City Homocides", every book is a wonderful experience! I highly recommend everything he has written or will write!
Another good book John. The men in blue really do take care of each other. I . Loved Shane, TJ and Christian. You write good clean mysteries. It's always sad when we lose one of ours, but unfortunately it is one of the drawbacks of their job. We lost three of our own in 2016 and it is always a sad time. Let me get to reading another book by John Dalglish.
What I liked most was the lack of foul language and good Character development and that combined with a great story I would recommend reading more of these books. This is my 4th in this series. He has other series but this is my personal favorite series. I really like that each of these stories takes place in a different city with new detectives keeping them fresh all the time. Introducing you to new characters yet keeping the formula in how the stories are told with the times and locations of where they are at a particular time as the story unfolds. I have read other ones by John C. Dalglish like the Crossover books and Detective Jason Strong books. They have all been good reads. Some seemed to be a little short but still good. John and wife both have a gift from the heavens. Truly refreshing to read a book without the graphic sex and language seen in many other books out there. Denver Homicide has a female lead detective who is working with a new male detective and they make a great pair and work well together in this story. A good chemistry develops between them during the story and is a good addition to the story as well. I look forward to reading more books by this Author. For the Author keep using that wonderful Gift God had given you to write good clean stories that both Entertain us and are intriguing and keeping you interested in the story from beginning to end. This is my feeling anyway. Peace, God Bless
Give these books a try. I think you'll like them.
Very, very good book once again by mystery master John Dalglish. One thing I love about this book is that you can piece together all the evidence as it pops up and understand how the conclusion is detrmined. The author does not throw in a surprise ending that makes you wonder where the information comes from. Detectives Walker and Austin methodically go from one murder to the next and find a link that produces clues that provide "persons of interest" and whittle that down to the only person it can be. When you can't put the book down, the read goes fast and the enjoyment factor multiplies.
